HBCU SUMMIT

Executives from Tapestry joined HBCU professors in New York City for a summit hosted by Harlem's Fashion Row & PLC Detroit. The focus was on talent pipelines and opportunities in fashion and design, emphasizing what HBCUs need from the industry. Bowie State University's Professor Danielle Brown highlighted the collective goal of educators: "Our job is to get students to their dreams," providing ongoing exposure and guidance. Other topics explored included modernizing the hiring processes in education and fostering industry learning for educators, aligning educational practices with current industry needs and creating new opportunities for professional development.
